PERSONAL INFORMATION
Name: PÖPPLER, Ann-Christin
Researcher ID: ORCID 0000-0002-0624-1708
Date of birth: 14.08.1986
Nationality: German

My long-term research interest is the development of new, improved analytical approaches in the context of drug delivery. I aim to achieve this through detailed molecular level understanding and identification of essential structure-property relations combining NMR spectroscopy with synthesis and a variety of complementary analytical methods.

Abstract: NMR spectroscopy in the solid state and in solution is very sensitive towards the local environment, structural order and dynamics spanning various length and time scales. The complementarity with diffraction methods and quantum chemical calculations makes this technique a very rich source of molecular level information. In this presentation, the joint research with Prof. Stalke bridging the solid state with the structure in solution for various organometallic motifs represents the starting point for a journey into the world of NMR spectroscopy to yield detailed structure property relations. In particular, the versatility is showcased by examples from different areas of research such as organometallic chemistry, crystalline small molecules, liquid crystals, amorphous drug-polymer assemblies and covalent organic frameworks, thus spanning various degrees of order in the materials studied.
